This beautiful, medium-sized rhinoceros beetle comes from North America (several southwestern states in the USA and northern Mexico). Larvae are reared on a “dynaste” substrate or flake soil; adults feed on banana or beetle jelly. The larval stage lasts 18–24 months, while adults live only a few months.
Pair of adults emerged in June 2025. Male measures about 58–60 mm.
