Breeding Requirements

  • Use a well-ventilated terrarium or breeding container, with a heating pad or warm spot keeping the temperature around 24–28 °C.
  • Maintain moderate humidity, with a water dish or hydration system (a water-filled tube sealed with cotton, or water gel).
  • Provide hiding places (egg cartons, cardboard tubes) so crickets can avoid overcrowding.
  • Include an egg-laying container with moist substrate (peat or coco humus, possibly mixed with vermiculite). Eggs typically hatch after 10 to 14 days, depending on temperature.
  • Clean the enclosure regularly to prevent the proliferation of mites or mold.
